Figure drawing artset pro

God I love life drawing ๐Ÿ™‚ here’s another experiment!

I hope you enjoy looking at her as much as I enjoyed creating her.

Take from it what you will.. An image can speak different words to everyone, don’t you think?

A fleeting moment, charcoal artset pro

Life Study; biro on Cambridge ruled paperย

It’s been a week of being stuck in front of computer or vegging in front of telly/cinema screen. I needed to hold a pen in my hand and create something even if it was a quick scribble.
So scribble I did, behold my lady drawn on ruled paper with a biro as that’s all the materials I had in my work briefcase lol

I like her! i hope you do to! Tonight I am off to the Blog awards where I’m shortlisted in the arts and culture section. Very exciting stuff! Not a hope of winning I’m just going to sit back and enjoy! Like this lady but with more clothes ๐Ÿ˜›

Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

Out of Focus

Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them. – Jack Canfield

So I’ve been a little sick the last few months.. Loads of tests but so far no answer but viral infection… That pesky answer that gives you no answer. Unfortunate side effects of whatever is going on is fatigue, shakyย hands, vertigo and vision problems- my eyes won’t focus together properly damn them haha

Why am I telling you this? Continue reading

5 min red sketch on Artset app

Red is a hard colour to draw on… Also I didn’t have my glasses on so details are very simple haha sometimes it makes thinks a little more interesting when you can’t see the full detail you are making ๐Ÿ™‚ and sometimes it’s a mess when you put your glasses on lol

Oil pastel sketch

As for you girls, you must risk everything for Freedom, and give everything for Passion, loving everything that your hearts and your bodies love. The only thing higher for a girl and more sacred for a young woman than her freedom and her passion should be her desire to make her life into poetry, surrendering everything she has to create a life as beautiful as the dreams that dance in her imagination. โ€“ Roman Payne

God I’ve not tried the oil pastel for a while, this is on artset, quick sketch to test the waters, wanted to keep it quick, strong and dynamic.

More practice needed to get back in swing of oils, I’ve never favoured them really as I like the softness of pastel usually but it’s good to switch things up ๐Ÿ™‚ bit of gel pain thrown in.. Just cause I felt like it lol

Figure study, charcoal and pastel

Art is not the application of a canon of beauty but what the instinct and the brain can conceive beyond any canon. When we love a woman we don’t start measuring her limbs.

Vibrant pastel lady

Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture grey, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up.
Allen Klein

This is an old pastel painting I did in Crawford. I came across it and I wanted to share it again as it brought me back to that moment in class where after the half hour we turned the easels around and I remember the teacher going WOW .. Now not because it’s an amazing drawing but because the colours are insane!  Continue reading

Reclining Woman, charcoal on wash over script

The thing women have yet to learn, is that no one gives you power. You just take it!
-Rosanne Barr

Female Figure: Watercolour on Artset app

The women whom I love and admire for their strength and grace did not get that way because shit worked out. They got that way because shit went wrong, and they handled it. They handled it in a thousand different ways on a thousand different days, but they handled it.
Those women are my superheroes. This is who I modeled Alma Whittaker upon.
