Candy workshop chair upcycling with Kyle Lane

Are you ever looking for something to do with a group of friends that doesn’t involve copious amounts of alcohol 😛 I know I know … Bare with me!

my own little box to set me up for future attempts!

I am a big fan of workshops.. A day of fun where you get to create something. Coming home with something I’ve made makes me feel create but also makes you feel you are getting great bang for your buck.

We wanted to do something so I got in touch with Kyle lane about their Candy workshop. A fun day where you get to gossip with the girls, yummy food and in this case a pretty chair!

Ireland is having weather commitment issues at the moment.. it wants both summer and winter in its life at the same time.. Hence we have been enjoying blasting sun, followed by torrential downpour. This means summer dresses and wet ground…. Continue reading

Sunny Weekend in Clonmel

Cherry blossom sunset.. & my studio

My Cherryblossom at Sunset

I stare out at the cherry blossoms
In marvel and joy I watch them bloom
Then they burst out with their effloresces
As though awaking from mother nature’s womb,
And there I watch awestruck and in wonder
As though GOD splashed paint upon each branch
Through beauty, and only for beauty I cry a tear
As the blossoms explode in a pink and red avalanche.

No more beauty and wonder could one man ever see
Than watching the cherry blossoms upon a tree.

Annerville Sunrise

Annerville Sunrise

We are having amazing weather here in Clonmel. The sun is shining and everyone is outside enjoying it. Ireland is so beautiful in this weather.

I have always been a morning person so I took the opportunity to get out in the crisp early mornings and go for a jog. I am not great in the heat so these mornings are perfect .. cold but dry and so beautiful, with the sun rising and the fog rolling back out of the fields. Continue reading

Black and White Challenge Day 5 of 5

Old Bridge Clonmel

My photo at the Old Bridge Clonmel

I met three children on the road —
The hawthorn trees were sweet with rain
The hills had drawn their white blinds down —
Three children on the road from town.

Their wealthy eyes in splendour mocked
Their faded rags and bare wet feet Continue reading

Black and White Challenge Day 4 of 5

Willow Tree

“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity… and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”
― William Blake

I love Trees, maybe its in my heritage. Trees have always been important in the spiritual history of Ireland. Sacred trees were planted in the sites of holy wells, and churches were built where sacred trees were. In fact back in ye old times according to Brehon law the punishment for felling a Chieftian tree Continue reading
