All the group at the top- 100% sucess rate

This time two years ago I was on an adventure climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I thought I’d bring you back with me as I explain what the whole experience was like. I know people toy with the idea of doing it and then chicken out but it really was an amazing experience and something I will always be proud of. Continue reading

Ireland is having weather commitment issues at the moment.. it wants both summer and winter in its life at the same time.. Hence we have been enjoying blasting sun, followed by torrential downpour. This means summer dresses and wet ground…. Continue reading

Oil pastel sketch

As for you girls, you must risk everything for Freedom, and give everything for Passion, loving everything that your hearts and your bodies love. The only thing higher for a girl and more sacred for a young woman than her freedom and her passion should be her desire to make her life into poetry, surrendering everything she has to create a life as beautiful as the dreams that dance in her imagination. – Roman Payne

God I’ve not tried the oil pastel for a while, this is on artset, quick sketch to test the waters, wanted to keep it quick, strong and dynamic.

More practice needed to get back in swing of oils, I’ve never favoured them really as I like the softness of pastel usually but it’s good to switch things up 🙂 bit of gel pain thrown in.. Just cause I felt like it lol

The Rally car circuit is a big deal around here. Guys love to get in there n join in the races, do up cars and have the craic. Sometimes there are tragic accidents and this painting is a tribute to a man that died doing what he loved, racing. Continue reading

Instagram.. instant connection :)

Just a little reminder to let me know if you are on Instagram.

If you are an artist (or whatever you do) it’s a great addition to your blog as most people find it so much easier to pop up a quick photo of what they are doing/ working on than a blog post.

Best of both worlds… Continue reading

Self portrait On iPad! Digits n digital

So I came across two lovely blogs this week where artists were using their iPad to ‘paint’.  Daily WIP  and Art and Words.. Check them out 🙂  I was intrigued and inspired. So I gave it a go.

Here is my first attempt! Be kind.. it took about 20 mins (including figuring out how to use the bloody app lol Continue reading

Life Drawing studies…same.. same.. different?

It took me years to understand the magic of drawing. For years, I tried to make things look how they are – instead of being what they are. Drawing is an alchemic language. Some of my favourite drawings I have done with my eyes closed – or so drunk I do not remember making them.

Seated Woman, charcoal

Life drawing is fascinating. I know I keep saying this but I just love it. You can put a group of artists around the same figure and there will be that moment at the end where everyone turns their easel around (unless it was just us that did that!?!) and you are looking at totally different paintings.. how can we all see everything so differently??
