Day trip around Belfast city Oct 2015

I’ve never been to Belfast so when I had to go up for work, I made sure to get there early and see the sights. If you follow me on snapchat (artbycam) you may have seen some of these clips or pics. Here is a video of my tourist antics…bit windy  and it erased the sound lol sorry 😛

First thing I do in new city is get on the hop on hop off bus tour.. Even if it’s crap you can get a feel for the city without getting too lost. I went with City Sight seeing Belfast.

Popcorn Time: Suffragette Movie Review

Sometimes you have to psyche yourself up to see a film.. I was feeling like this for Suffragette, I knew it had a stellar cast but I didn’t want to be depressed and it looked heavy going. I was pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed this film.

Suffragette tells the story of a group of East London women who chose to become part of the Suffragette movement. The cast is amazing.. check out these names

Cast: Carey Mulligan,Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Marie Duff, Meryl Streep, Brendan Gleeson, Ben Whishaw

Popcorn Time: Pan Movie Review

Often I go to the cinema cause the only thing that stops my brain ticking too much is a giant screen and a new world to distract me. Yesterday was one of those days, so I took myself to Neverland.. Ok I took myself to the Omniplex Mahon point but same difference 🙂

Sometimes friends begin as enemies and enemies begin as friends is the premise of this film. It tells the story of orphan Peter (Miller) who is spirited back to Neverland, there he befriends Hook (Hedlund) and the adventure to find his mother and save the island from  evil pirate Blackbeard (Jackman) commences.

Cast: Hugh Jackman, Levi Miller, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara,Adeel Akhtar Continue reading

Popcorn Time: The Intern Movie Review

You know the best thing about going to the early show? The popcorn is AMAZING. That salt drying out your lips kind of amazing. Yes that is the main reason I love the cinema. Popcorn and Malteasers. I put my Malteasers into the Popcorn. Now not all at once (I’m looking at you Pam, you won’t make that mistake again lol) but bit by bit. Its heaven! Do you do it? If not.. try it.. i insist!!

Everest Movie Review

If a film starts with ‘based on a true story’ you know it’s not gonna be the most cheerful of films. Everest is a film by Baltasar Kormakur based on the tragic events following a freak storm on Everest when Rob Hall lead a group of climbers to the highest point on Earth.

Cast:Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Emily Watson, Kiera Knightly, Sam Worthington, Jake Gyllenhaal

Wellfest 2015

Last weekend I went with my friends Anne, Rachel and Lisa to Wellfest. This was its first year and it was great to see the amount of people who flocked to Herbert park to take part. If you were wondering what it was all about I will share a little feel of the day. I think its going to get bigger and better so I will definitely be going back next year.

Two of us were ‘injured’ as such so were hoping there was enough to keep us entertained for the day. While there was i couldn’t help but think if you were able to partake in the fitness activities it would have of course been so much better so perhaps that meant there wasn’t enough to entertain on the mind aspect?  It was still an enjoyable way to spend the day 🙂 Continue reading

Popcorn Time: Song of the Sea

Last week I had the week off work so I decided to take a trip to see the new Irish animation film Song of the Sea. I wrote up my review and in my lazy holiday mode I forgot to press publish (my bad) so here it is..  😛

My sister and our two little hijacked friends of 8 and 10 years old joined us, Ellen and Fionn. (I don’t always rob children for kids movies I swear haha) To be honest I probably wouldn’t have went to see this without little Ellen wanting to see it.

The Scarlet Deep Book Review

I know I know I am technically an ‘art’ page… but who am I too restrict myself, after all writing is art. I am a big reader and my favourite author is Elizabeth Hunter. I am a HUGE fan and I have read her Elemental books a few times.. yes I am a serial re-reader of books.

I follow Elizabeth’s Facebook page and she put up a post for Irish folks to be beta readers for her new novel set in Ireland so obviously I jumped at the chance. So exciting!! So that’s how I got to be one of the lucky people to read an Arc of the book.

Love, Action, Vampires…. Ireland 😛 Continue reading
